Very often, re-hospitalization of these patients is due to lack of enough information and compliance with medical advice, having negative effect on quality of life. Thus, we aimed to determine the effect of self-care education on quality of life in unstable angina patients in Kashan Shahid Behashti hospital in 2010. Material and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 80 unstable angina patients divided randomly into control and intervention group. The instruments were demographic and quality of life questionnaire (SF36), used before and after intervention. For intervention group, we carried out two face-to-face 2-hour sessions. The first session was performed at admission and the second at the time of discharge with the presence of patient’s family. Finally, the two groups were compared and analyzed by SPSS 14 version, using paired t test and independent t test. Results: The results in two groups showed that there were significant differences in dimensions including General health, physical health, mental health, social function, limitation in activities, and vitality (p≤0.05). But the difference was not significant for health changes and body pain. Conclusion: Nurse follow-up and patient-centered self-care education can be useful for improving quality of life in unstable angina patients.}, Keywords = {Self-Care, Quality of Life, Education, Unstable Angina}, volume = {11}, Number = {1}, pages = {1-7}, publisher = {Golestan University of Medical Sciences }, url = {http://nmj.goums.ac.ir/article-1-538-en.html}, eprint = {http://nmj.goums.ac.ir/article-1-538-en.pdf}, journal = {Journal of Research Development in Nursing and Midwifery}, issn = {2588-3038}, eissn = {}, year = {2014} } @article{ author = {MohammadiArya, Alireza and Pakdaman, Mahdiyeh and Abolghasemi, Shahnam and Rezaee, Mansour and Pashaee, Tahereh and GharehTapeh, Amaneh}, title = {The Effect of Stress Inoculation Group Training on Hope and Quality of Life in Women with Breast Cancer}, abstract ={Background and Objective: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. The instruments were Schneider hope and quality of life (SF-36) questionnaires. Of 60, 30 eligible patients were randomly divided into control group with no training and experimental group with stress inoculation training. Results: Before intervention, the two groups were matched with demographic variables, hope and quality of life score. Since bruising and pain are thier unpleasant consequences following injection, we aimed at determining the effect of local cold on occurrence of pain and bruising at the injection site of subcutaneous enoxaparin sodium. Material and Methods: This experimental study was conducted on 36 patients allocated randomly to case and control groups in Panje Azar teaching center in Groan, 2012. In control group, routine subcutaneous injection of enoxaparin ,without local cold, in 10 seconds was performed while in case group , local cold was applied for five minutes before routine subcutaneous injection. The data was collected via a researcher-made check-list consisting of demographic part and the section for recording the extent of bruising and pain intensity. The Extent of bruising was measured by using clear flexible ruler within 24-48-72 hours and pain intensity by visual analog scale (VAS) immediately after injection. Data was analyzed by SPSS- 16 using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Results indicated that the mean of pain intensity in control (3.86±2.75) and case group (3.05±1.71) was not significantly different (P=0.148) and it is true for the extent of bruising in 24- 48-72 hours, no significant difference between two groups. Conclusion: Regarding the results, cold application before injection is not effective in reducing pain intensity and the size of the bruising.}, Keywords = {Enoxaparin Sodium, Pain, Bruise, Local Cold, Subcutaneous Injection}, volume = {11}, Number = {2}, pages = {15-21}, publisher = {Golestan University of Medical Sciences }, url = {http://nmj.goums.ac.ir/article-1-622-en.html}, eprint = {http://nmj.goums.ac.ir/article-1-622-en.pdf}, journal = {Journal of Research Development in Nursing and Midwifery}, issn = {2588-3038}, eissn = {}, year = {2014} } @article{ author = {Esfahankalate, Soheila and Hasheminsab, Seyedeh Maryam and Esfahankalate, Azam}, title = {Effect of Lecture and Group Discussion on Improving the Nutritional knowledge of Pregnant Women in Gorgan}, abstract ={Background and Objective: It is imperative that the application of appropriate educational methods is of paramount importance to nutrition knowledge and health of pregnant women.
